Job Description
Were looking for an LBS1 Teacher to join our CARES program a selfcontained special education setting designed for approximately 10 K1 students. This fulltime position is for the entire school year and provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students with intermediate to intense social/emotional and academic needs.
Our organization is partnering with an IL district that offers a small structured learning environment where students receive specialized support. While students spend more than 60% of their day in this selfcontained classroom they also have opportunities to integrate with their general education peers based on their progress. As students demonstrate positive coping strategies their time in the general education classroom increases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic and social/emotional instructional support in a small structured environment.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to create opportunities for students to integrate into mainstream classrooms.
- Monitor and track student progress focusing on both academic achievements and social/emotional development.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student growth.
Requirements
Illinois LBS1 valid teaching certification.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Experience working with students with social/emotional and academic needs is a plus.
