As we move into a growth phase Renault Winery & Resort is searching for a Purchasing Specialist to join our team. The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and costeffectiveness of the purchasing process across properties and cost centers. Duties include implementing purchasing processes and procedures in alignment with the direction operational and financial goals and coordination of all Purchasing Department activities in addition to negotiating contracts with suppliers reporting inventory evaluating quality of goods purchased and managing spending budgets. This position will require the ability to work with and understand the unique needs of teams operating in several business units including hotel operations restaurant and catering operations golf special events and administration.
Job Responsibilities:
- Achieving financial objectives established by the Leadership Team
- Clarifying the needs across internal departments
- Expediting deliveries of goods and where necessary and determining department
- approval for alternate methods or materials if delivery is not available when required
- Maintaining contact with suppliers to ensure expediting delivery of materials
- Keeping departments advised with respect to lead time on critical material or affected products
- Vendor and item maintenance in the procurement system to best expedite order placement
- Knowledge of logistics and transportation methods of shipping
- Maintaining vendor relations
- Providing exceptional customer service to all departments
- Working safely following all established safety rules and regulations
- Communicating effectively with leadership team members and guests
- Following all relevant policies and procedures including procurement software requirements
- Providing maintenance of the procurement system including upgrades
- Negotiating contracts and competitive pricing with suppliers
- Working with schedules and deadlines determined by departments
- Developing and providing reports for management
- Working with management teams to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders
- Developing an effective and accurate system for monitoring purchase orders
- Ordering products and authorize payments
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Job Qualifications:
- Experience with purchasing system software a huge plus Redrock software preferred
- Bachelor s degree in business Logistics or related field preferred
- 13 years of related experience
- Resultsoriented metricsdriven leader with experience in purchasing supplier collaboration development and compliance
- Experience with sourcing and procurement and building a vendor program
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Negotiation skills
- Purchasing and inventory management skills
- Hospitality industry experience preferred
