Job Description
This role is for one of the Weekdays clients
We are looking for a seasoned Vice President of Engineering Platform to lead our engineering efforts and help shape the future of our platform architecture. If you are passionate about backend development engineering management and scalable platform solutions this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the engineering team focusing on backend and platform development.
- Drive the design development and deployment of scalable platform solutions ensuring high performance security and reliability.
- Collaborate with product management design and other stakeholders to align technical vision with business goals.
- Oversee architecture decisions providing direction on system design platform infrastructure and backend technology stack.
- Lead the development and implementation of processes to improve operational efficiency development cycles and team productivity.
- Champion best practices in software development including agile methodologies CI/CD and testing strategies.
- Mentor and grow the engineering team fostering a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the platform is robust scalable and can support the growing needs of the business.
- Manage budgets resources and timelines to deliver highquality platform features on time.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Master s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
- Proven expertise in backend technologies such as Java Python Node.js Go or similar languages.
- Strong experience with platform architecture distributed systems microservices and cloud infrastructure (AWS GCP or Azure).
- Deep understanding of database technologies (SQL NoSQL) caching mechanisms and API development.
- Handson experience with CI/CD pipelines DevOps practices and containerization (Docker Kubernetes).
- Excellent leadership skills with a track record of building and scaling highperformance engineering teams.
- Exceptional problemsolving abilities decisionmaking skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and executive leadership.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a fastgrowing tech startup environment.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies like React Angular or Vue.js.
- Prior experience with platform migration scaling and rearchitecting initiatives.
