Position: Engineering Project Lead Engineer
a. Reports to: Industrial Projects – DAS Team Manager
b. Team size to be handled: 3 to 5 min. (Lay out Designer / Mechanical draftsmen
/ Mechanical Engineer: No administrative reporting)
c. Work location: Office Pune
d. Shift: General
e. Nature: Work from office (NO WFH)
f. Nature of travel: Not frequently but minimum visits to
i. Sites executed or under execution (Frequency: Once in a quarter)
ii. Manufacturing shop in Chakan (Frequency: Once in a month)
g. Minimum Education: BE (Mech) or Post Graduate in Thermal / Heat Power
(Preferred)
h. Experience:
i. 8 to 12 years of experience in technical project engineering execution
management.
ii. Experience of leading a small team is an asset.
iii. Experience with thermal calculations and equipment sizing (e.g. Heat
Exchangers) is a must.
iv. Experience with boiler construction codes or piping design is an asset
(ASME section VI)
v. Experience with AutoCAD P&ID software.
vi. Ability to integrate continuous improvement techniques.
i. Languages: English verbal and written and ability to communicate with local
and global stakeholders.
j. Role purpose: An Engineering Project Lead Engineer is a technical leading
manager for the execution engineering team. She / He is responsible for the
correct design of the solution for our customer within the budget and
deadlines. She / He holistically designs biomass energy plants and does the
calculations of combustions systems heat exchangers and auxiliary plant
equipment. She / He leads the layout designer and the mechanical engineer /
draftsman and coordinates and follows up the detailed design of the project.
She / He cooperates closely with the Project Manager.
k. Job Description:
i. Calculations:
1. Energy balance calculations in order to meet the contract
requirements (using standard spreadsheets)
2. Calculations for completing the energy plant: pumps fans
emission reduction equipment... (using spreadsheets)
3. Checking/reviewing of subcontracted strength calculations
on boiler parts/adiabatic components/piping flexibility
calculations
4. Defining the loads on the steel structure and followup of
the steel structure calculations.
ii. Design:
1. Project overall engineering responsible.
2. Transferring the energy balance calculation into a
holistically designed plant layout
3. Creating the P&ID (using AutoCad P&ID software) and
component list (together with the control & automation
engineer the E&I engineer and the project manager)
4. Checking the budget consequences of the design decisions
5. Creating and releasing of technical datasheets and
construction drawings
iii. Leading the team and support:
1. Is responsible for completing the engineering work for a
project assigned to his team. He plans the work
distributes the tasks at hand follows up and releases
finished work.
2. Manages his team plans in the manpower and follows up
on progress of the work.
3. Communicating and consulting with the project manager
and if needed with the client LDE MDE and
subcontractors on engineering matters
4. Issuing and discussing the design control check list with the
Project Manager and the Project Fiels Department before
starting up the energy plant
5. Support sales for new upcoming projects.
6. Supports procurement for technical evaluation of supplier
offers and subcontractors
iv. Administration:
1. Ensures that his team registers accurately the spent hours.
2. Support for specific parts of the instruction manual.
v. Health & Safety:
1. Respect of H&S legal requirements and others (ex.
standards) and H&S VYNCKE requirements.
2. Responsible for assuring that an installation can be built
and used in a healthy and safe manner.
3. Responsible for risk assessment on the design of an
installation ( Hazop....) organization of Hazop.
4. Responsible for defining the preventive measures in a
manual.
vi. Team Management and support:
1. Responsible for leading a small team.
2. Ability to troubleshoot and rapidly shift multiple priorities.
3. Provide mentorship and resolve issues within the team.
4. Responsible for growth and sustainability of FV knowledge
concerning core components.
