The Quality Manager assists the Quality Director in maintaining and implementing three quality programs: Nuclear Military and ISO. This role serves as the primary quality liaison for major contracts provides consultation to our sales team in interpreting customer requirements offers advisory and technical support for qualityrelated issues and backs up the Quality Assurance team in critical activities.
The ideal candidate should have expertise in the requirements of ASME and ASTM material specifications ASME B&PV Section III 10CFR50 Appendix B 10CFR Part 21 ASME NQA1/ANSI N45.2 and CSAN299.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of three Quality Assurance (QA) programs on a daily basis.
- Supervise personnel involved in inspection testing and certification activities to ensure continuous quality control over materials facilities and products.
- Develop initial revisions and subsequent updates to the quality assurance programs and offer recommendations to define:
- Program capabilities and goals
- QA Policies and Procedures
- Personnel roles and responsibilities
- Design and draft quality manuals procedures and work instructions based on input from workers and department managers.
- Define supplier requirements develop supplier relationships and manage Approved Supplier Lists (ASL).
- Act as a Lead Auditor and conduct supplier surveillance audits.
- Understand and communicate all specifications and requirements.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Regularly interface with the supply chain and visit suppliers as necessary.
- Communicate customer requirements within the organization.
- Assist and provide guidance in resolving technical issues.
- Manage Corrective Action and Nonconformance Programs.
- Collect and analyze data and generate reports in support of Key Performance Indicators / Metrics and Management Reviews.
- Develop and deliver QA training as needed.
Travel
- Willingness and ability to travel to suppliers locations regularly including occasional international travel.
Requirements
Bachelor s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
A minimum of ten years of experience in an ASME or other certified program within the power generation or energy industries.
Previous experience as a Lead Auditor (in compliance with NQA1).
Experience as a Mechanical Inspector is preferred.
Experience in the piping industry is preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent customer and supplier relationship management.
Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel.
Familiarity with steel products manufacturing processes specifications and applications is preferred.
Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
