Senior Network Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team. This role is critical for designing implementing and maintaining robust network infrastructures that support our companys operations. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for ensuring network reliability performance and security while providing leadership and expertise in network design and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Design and Implementation:
  • Design and implement scalable and resilient network architectures to meet business requirements.
  • Configure and deploy network hardware and software including routers switches firewalls and VPNs.
  • Develop and maintain network diagrams documentation and standards.
• Network Management and Optimization:
  • Monitor network performance availability and utilization to ensure optimal operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues including connectivity problems and performance bottlenecks.
  • Optimize network configurations and settings to improve performance and reliability.
• Security and Compliance:
  • Implement and enforce network security policies and best practices to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits of network infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Collaboration and Leadership:
  • Work closely with IT teams and stakeholders to support networkrelated projects and initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers and staff.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to manage and support network services.
• Incident Response and Recovery:
  • Lead incident response efforts for networkrelated outages or security breaches.
  • Develop and test network disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain uptodate network documentation including configurations changes and inventory.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on network performance issues and improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 5 years of experience in network engineering with a strong background in designing and managing complex networks.
• Expertise in network technologies and protocols including TCP/IP BGP OSPF and VLANs.
• Proficiency with network hardware from major vendors (Cisco Juniper Arista) and network management tools.
• Experience with network security technologies including firewalls IDS/IPS and VPNs.
• Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid cloud environments.
• Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE CompTIA Network or similar are preferred.
