You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe General Manager will oversee all aspects of store operations including sales performance customer service staff management and inventory control. This role requires a stylish strategic thinker who can drive sales and profitability while maintaining the brand s reputation for excellence and exclusivity. Experience providing services for discerning customers strong leadership skills and a gogetter personality are a must. This role reports to the Creative Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management and Staff Leadership:
Oversee daily operations of the store ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
Implement and monitor store policies procedures and standards to maintain a high level of service and product presentation.
Provide ongoing coaching and management to a team of associates and support staff.
Conduct regular performance reviews and implement improvement plans where necessary.
Manage store budgets expenses and profitability targets to meet goals.
Customer Service and Sales
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Foster a customercentric environment ensuring all customers receive personalised service and an exceptional shopping experience.
Handle VIP clients and special requests with discretion and professionalism.
Inventory & Merchandising
Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability minimising stockouts and overstock situations.
Oversee visual merchandising standards ensuring store layout and displays are aligned with branding.
Marketing & Brand Promotion
Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute instore events promotions and marketing campaigns.
Monitor market trends and competitors providing insights and recommendations to maintain a competitive edge.
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with all legal and company policies
Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance customer feedback and other key metrics to senior management
Bachelor s degree in Business Administration Marketing Retail Management or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in retail management with at least 1 year in a luxury retail environment or similar.
You are calm and composed under stress with a proven track record of professionalism.
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with exceptional customer service.
A PLUS is indepth knowledge of luxury African retail including trends brands and customer preferences in sustainable fashion and homeware.
Must be techsavvy. Can navigate technical platforms. Proficiency in retail management software and MS Office Suite and Google workspace is a must.
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as applicable.
