Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Chef Instructor to guide and inspire aspiring chefs at a Culinary Academy in Saudi Arabia. Share your expertise shape the future of the culinary industry and work alongside a dedicated team committed to excellence in culinary education.

The Chef Instructor is responsible for delivering highquality culinary education specializing in a particular area of the kitchen. The role involves developing and executing instructional materials mentoring students and maintaining the highest standards of kitchen operations. The Chef Instructor will play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary skills and professional behaviour of aspiring chefs ensuring they are wellprepared for successful careers in the culinary arts.

KEY KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS

Knowledge:

  • Advanced understanding of culinary techniques with a focus on specialized kitchen sections.
  • Indepth knowledge of kitchen management and food safety standards.
  • Familiarity with current culinary trends and industry standards.

  • Expertise in specialized culinary techniques and the ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible manner.
  • Strong instructional design skills to develop engaging and effective learning materials.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver Specialized Culinary Instruction:

  • Teach specialized culinary courses in your area of expertise ensuring that students gain a deep understanding of the specific culinary techniques and kitchen operations.

Develop and Refine Instructional Materials:

  • Create adapt and continuously improve instructional materials including lesson plans recipes and practical exercises tailored to the needs of each kitchen section.

Supervise and Mentor Students:

  • Provide handson supervision during practical kitchen sessions guiding students in developing their culinary skills and professional behaviour.

Evaluate and Assess Student Progress:

  • Conduct regular assessments of student performance providing constructive feedback to support their growth and development.

Maintain Kitchen Standards:

  • Ensure that all kitchen operations adhere to the highest standards of cleanliness organization and safety setting an example for students to follow.

Participate in Curriculum Development:

  • Actively contribute to the review and development of the culinary curriculum ensuring that it remains relevant comprehensive and aligned with industry standards.

Collaborate with Colleagues:

  • Work collaboratively with other Chef Instructors to provide a cohesive and integrated culinary education sharing best practices and supporting academywide initiatives.

Contribute to Academy Events:

  • Participate in and contribute to academy culinary events demonstrations and competitions showcasing both your expertise and the talents of your students.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Formal culinary education with a specialization in a specific kitchen section.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a chef with a focus on the specialized kitchen section.
  • Previous experience in teaching training or mentoring within a culinary setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • A genuine passion for culinary arts and a strong commitment to educational excellence.
