About Solid Africa

Founded in 2011 Solid Africa is dedicated to addressing nutrition insecurity in public hospitals. With a vision of universal access to adequate and appropriate nutrition Solid Africa champions an endtoend patient feeding program which currently delivers tailored meals three times daily to over 1500 patients across six district hospitals in and around Kigali. Our approach encompasses the entire value chain from sourcing and farming ingredients to preparing and delivering meals. As we expand our efforts also include promoting sustainable agriculture and implementing nutrition education campaigns. To ensure longterm sustainability we have initiated a commercial arm to generate revenue to support our operations.

About the role

SolidAfrica is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Human Resources Manager to lead the organizations human resources function. The Senior HR Manager will play a key role in developing and implementing HR strategies policies and programs to support SolidAfricas mission and goals as well as foster a positive organizational culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies policies and programs aligned with SolidAfricas mission values and strategic objectives.
  • Lead recruitment and talent acquisition efforts including workforce planning job profiling sourcing interviewing and onboarding new employees.
  • Oversee performance management processes including goal setting performance evaluations feedback and professional development planning.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HRrelated matters including employee relations conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Manage compensation and benefits programs ensuring competitiveness fairness and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Lead diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives fostering a culture of belonging and ensuring equal opportunities for all employees.
  • Develop and deliver HR training and development programs to enhance employee skills knowledge and performance.
  • Manage HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and other HR technology platforms ensuring accuracy data integrity and compliance.
  • Stay informed about HR trends best practices and legal requirements and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Lead and mentor HR staff fostering a culture of collaboration professional growth and accountability within the HR team.



Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in human resources business administration or related field; masters degree or HR certification preferred.
  • Proven track record of at least 710 years of progressive HR experience including leadership roles in HR management and strategy development.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles practices and regulations with experience in recruitment performance management employee relations and compensation & benefits.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships influence stakeholders and facilitate collaboration.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think analytically develop creative solutions and align HR initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire motivate and develop a highperforming HR team.
  • Commitment to diversity equity and inclusion with a passion for fostering a culture of belonging and ensuring equal opportunities for all employees.
  • Experience working in the nonprofit sector or international development context is preferred.
  • Fluency in French and English is highly desirable with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.



Bachelor s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field; Master s degree preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a communications or marketing role, with at least 3 years in a management position overseeing multi-functional teams. Proven success in developing and executing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies. Strong knowledge of the latest trends in digital marketing, including social media platforms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of creative professionals. Ability to work collaboratively with all departmental functions within the organization.
