- Senior Data Scientist
- Sector: Healthcare
- Location: Kigali Rwanda (OnSite / Hybrid)
- NOTE: This role is open to candidates currently residing in Kigali Rwanda or those who are willing to relocate to Kigali Rwanda.
Role Overview
This Senior Data Scientist position is dedicated to supporting a healthoriented governmental project focused on datadriven decisionmaking. The role centers on analyzing and extracting insights from health data to drive impactful reporting and support the operations of an intelligence center within the healthcare domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead datadriven decisionmaking efforts overseeing the full process from data collection and analysis through to implementation and impact assessment.
- Direct and implement analytics projects that support the objectives of health intelligence initiatives.
- Utilize advanced statistical and machine learning models to extract actionable insights from health data.
- Manage health data science projects ensuring alignment with project goals and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with various crossfunctional teams to translate complex data findings into accessible insights.
- Stay informed of industry advancements in data science machine learning and AI to continually improve methodologies and technologies.
Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science Statistics Mathematics Engineering or a related field with a focus on data science machine learning or AI.
Experience:
- At least 5 years in a data science or similar role.
Technical Proficiency:
- Solid expertise in machine learning techniques and algorithms.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as R Python Scala or Java.
- Experience with big data frameworks like Apache Spark Storm and Hadoop.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication reporting and presentation skills coupled with a collaborative mindset.
