About the role
The F&B Operations Manager at KN Cafe will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the cafe ensuring that the highest standards of customer service product quality and operational efficiency are consistently maintained. The role involves promoting Kivu Noir coffee driving sales managing inventory ensuring food safety compliance and mentoring staff to deliver an exceptional caf experience. The F&B Operations Manager will manage all aspects of KN Cafe s operations from staff management to maintaining the caf s ambiance and ensuring operational excellence. This role will require a strong focus on promoting Kivu Noir coffee through customer interaction and education inventory control and ensuring food and beverage quality. The Manager will also be responsible for creating a customercentric environment managing vendor relationships and driving sales through exceptional service and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will need to be handson with a strong background in the food and beverage industry particularly in managing caf operations with the ability to mentor and develop the team to uphold the caf s high standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement & Promotion:
- Promote Kivu Noir coffee by educating customers on coffee brewing techniques and product offerings.
- Foster a welcoming and customercentric environment enhancing guest experience through exceptional service.
- Train staff on coffee knowledge customer service standards and caf protocols.
Operational Oversight:
- Ensure smooth daily operations including managing staff schedules overseeing caf cleanliness and ensuring timely service.
- Maintain all operational checklists (washup area bathrooms dining area) and ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Oversee the proper use and maintenance of coffee equipment ensuring minimal disruptions to service.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
- Manage caf inventory including coffee beans pastries and supplies. Ensure timely reordering and quality control of all products.
- Conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of ingredients and supplies.
Sales & Financial Management:
- Drive sales by improving customer retention and attracting new clientele through outstanding service and product quality.
- Manage caf financials including timely banking float management and cost control.
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy of administrative tasks including sales reports staff attendance and stock sheets.
Training & Development:
- Mentor and train caf staff (baristas waitstaff) on customer service coffee preparation and adherence to caf standards.
- Encourage a culture of continuous learning and improvement among staff by staying informed about industry trends and best practices.
Ambience & Cleanliness:
- Ensure the caf s ambience is welcoming and clean at all times with attention to details such as music volume lighting and table settings.
- Ensure that the washup area dining area and bathrooms are clean wellstocked and maintained to the highest standards.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with Caferwa policies food safety regulations and local health standards.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all staff and customers.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Observe and evaluate staff performance regularly ensuring adherence to the highest standards of service and operation.
Provide regular reports to Caferwa management on caf performance challenges and areas for improvement.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Hospitality Management Business or a related field.
- 710 years of experience in a fastpaced food and beverage role preferably in a caf or similar setting.
- Proven experience in managing operations staff and inventory in the F&B industry.
- Strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques coffee equipment and caf products.
- Experience with vendor management stock ordering and food safety regulations
