Job Description

Were searching for a dynamic individual to join our team as an Environmental Manager/Expert focusing on Title V air regulations and statelevel air permitting and reporting. This crucial position will lead our environmental compliance and improvement initiatives at our Pensacola Florida location. The role includes giving direction collaborating with other sites and visiting companies ensuring regulatory compliance is met and guiding the local environmental team towards success.
Desired Outcomes:
  • Ensure consistent environmental compliance and enhance efforts to minimize the sites environmental impact.
  • Formulate and implement policies and programs aimed at reducing the environmental footprint.
  • Support the business by ensuring environmental permits are aligned with its growth trajectory.
  • Thoroughly understand the sites air permit its specifics and related regulatory obligations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local regulatory bodies.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the chemical processes at Pensacola and conduct a comprehensive compliance gap analysis.


Requirements

  • Uphold the sites commitment to environmental compliance.
  • Develop and enforce environmental policies for the facility.
  • Aid in the development execution and upkeep of compliance with permits and regulations.
  • Proactively obtain and adjust operating permits to meet business needs.
  • Monitor compliance metrics and enhance performance through strategic systems.
  • Maintain positive relations with the community regulatory bodies and other stakeholders. Engage in environmental audits and contribute to corporate environmental standards and practices.
  • Oversee the technical management of air waste and water regulations relevant to the site.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable federal state and local regulations.

Team Structure
  • Reporting to the Senior ESSH Manager.
  • Leading a team that includes specialists in wastewater hazardous waste/management systems air compliance and an environmental technician.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the Chemical Pharmaceutical Petrochemical or Oil & Gas sectors.
  • Bachelors degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering Environmental Sciences or a related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
  • Strong skills in communication organization planning facilitation and computing.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in environmental management is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking project management capability and a commitment to customer success.

Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Paper Science, or a related field with at least five years of experience in the paper industry, including five years in leadership roles. Alternatively, over ten years of direct experience in paper production with at least five years in supervisory positions. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills, specifically related to the paper production process. Ability to set and achieve short-term and long-term strategic goals. Experience in mentoring and leading teams by example. Capacity to initiate and manage change for continuous performance improvement. Organizational skills and the ability to implement necessary changes based on business needs. In-depth knowledge of integrated mill operations. Proficiency in managing different levels of an operational area and engaging with various organizational levels. Experience with reliability and continuous improvement methods. Preferred: Experience in a unionized setting and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kepner Tregoe, or similar analytical tools.
