Job Description

Job Summary:

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of payroll processing for our employees. This includes maintaining payroll records calculating wages and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills a thorough understanding of payroll practices and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payrolls for all employees ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain and update payroll information by collecting calculating and entering data.
  • Review and verify timesheets work charts wage computation and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management.
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal state and local payroll regulations.
  • Assist with yearend reporting including W2s and other taxrelated documents.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary changes to the payroll process.
  • Assist with audits related to payroll.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Human Resources or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll/accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll procedures laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g. ADP Paychex QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certification (e.g. Certified Payroll Professional) is a plus.
