Job Description

As a Customs & Trade Senior Manager (m/f/d) youll become a valued member of our esteemed Global Tax Department taking charge of Customs & Trade Compliance in Germany & Austria. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead Amer Sports Customs Operations Team onsite overseeing internal brokerage and coordinating with external Customs Brokers.

Tasks

What you will be doing:

  • Coordinating Compliance Excellence: Collaborate with the Amer Sports Customs Operations Team and external brokers to ensure meticulous compliance with customs regulations in Germany and Austria.
  • Strategic Monitoring: Vigilantly monitor Customs Operations transcending mere compliance to strategically enhance business efficiency and achieve operational excellence.
  • Mastery of Customs Credentials: Take charge of Customs Licenses AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) and lead the reporting of Customs Operations KPIs infusing precision and insight into every aspect.
  • Innovative Collaboration: Engage closely with Amer Sports Customs Centre of Excellences spearheading the implementation of cuttingedge regulations and driving internal procedural transformations.
  • Initiate and Implement: Execute selfinitiated projects to implement regulatory changes navigate supply chain transformations and introduce automation technologiesfostering heightened compliance and efficiency.
  • Leadership in Customs Development: Manage and develop the German and Austrian Customs Team Members guiding them to excel in local Customs Compliance through appraisal interviews.
  • Integral Global Contribution: Be an integral part of the Global Customs Team and the wider Tax Department shaping and elevating compliance practices in a dynamic and forwardthinking environment.

Requirements

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in International Customs & Trade Economics Logistics or equivalent diplomas.
  • Familiarity with customs law regulations and policies applicable in the European Union.
  • 710 years of relevant experience in international trade compliance in a medium to largesize company.
  • Related experience in the consulting industry for example with the Big Four is an advantage.
  • Proficient in import bonded warehouse and export processes and formalities in Germany. Experience with Austria would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills in German are essential. Must also be fluent in English both written and spoken. French is an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience with AEO Certification as well as the ability to create maintain and monitor compliance with trade and customs controls and processes is preferred.
  • Proficient in standard IT skills including SAP ERP MS Office and reporting and management tools to create reports proposals and evaluations. Sound working knowledge of SAP GTS or a similar system is an advantage.
  • Team player with staff management skills and qualities.
  • Effective communication both internally and externally.
  • Outstanding conceptual analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Sensitivity to other cultures and the ability to effectively work with colleagues in other countries.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize under pressure and within timeline constraints.
  • Strong in collaborating capable of both teamwork and working independently.
