Responsibilities:
Expertise in FAS109 Tax Accounting: Demonstrate extensive experience in FAS109 tax accounting including proficiency in tax accounting for stockbased compensation/FIN48.
Diversified Accounting and Auditing: Perform diversified accounting auditing and tax assignments under the guidance of supervisors managers or partners.
Technical Competency: Exhibit competency in technical skills maintaining high work quality and applying professional and firm standards.
Time Management: Meet time constraints and client deadlines while participating in the planning and scheduling of client engagements.
Supervision and Instruction: Direct and instruct assistants when necessary providing guidance on work to be performed and reviewing working papers.
Audit Planning: Determine the extent of testchecking required in an audit selecting transactions for testing.
Tax Return Preparation: Prepare complicated tax returns including those related to dissolution or liquidation.
Tax Planning: Propose client tax planning ideas to supervisors managers or partners.
Project Ownership: Proactively take ownership of projects ensuring completion and delivery to clients.
Comprehensive Accountant Tasks: Perform a broad range of accountant tasks minimizing the direct participation of supervisors managers or partners.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Team Supervision: Supervise staff accountants and assistants providing guidance on assignments reviewing work and directing necessary revisions.
Knowledge Sharing: Proactively share knowledge and contribute to the development of team members.
Education and Experience: Possess a bachelors degree in accounting or a masters degree in accounting with a minimum of three to five years of experience in public accounting showcasing a progression in the complexity of auditing accounting tasks and tax knowledge.
CPA License: Either hold a current and valid CPA license or be actively working toward obtaining the license by taking and passing the applicable state CPA exam.
Professional Development: Complete a minimum of forty hours of continuing professional education each year.
AICPA Membership: If licensed maintain good standing with the AICPA.
Skills and Abilities:
Microsoft Excel Mastery: Demonstrate mastery of Microsoft Excel.
Technology Proficiency: Exhibit proficiency in using computers and various accounting and tax software programs.
Accounting Knowledge: Possess a wellrounded knowledge of accounting principles and personal income taxes.
MultiTasking: Have the ability to reason effectively and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
