Maintenance Superintendent

Location: Newark, OH

Direct-Hire Full-Time

We are searching for an experienced Maintenance Superintendent. This is pivotal to the functionality of facilities and equipment. This role is responsible for the planning, direction, and oversight of the Maintenance Department, ensuring all plant infrastructure and equipment are maintained efficiently, safely, and reliably.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years in a maintenance supervisory role within a manufacturing environment. Foundry or melt shop experience is a bonus.
  • Proficiency in Preventative Maintenance Programs.
  • CMRP (Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional) certification is advantageous.
  • Experience with hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatics. Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong mechanical prowess, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and lead teams.
  • Adaptable and able to guide teams through change.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Suite and essential Maintenance software systems.
  • Understands OSHA and EPA regulations, as well as industry codes. Flexibility with working hours as needed.

Essential Duties

  • Leadership & Compliance: Lead by example, adhering to all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures. Instill a culture of safety compliance, environmental responsibility, and employee engagement.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Supervise the repair and maintenance of plant facilities and equipment to guarantee efficient and reliable operations.
  • Operations Coordination: Collaborate with Operations leadership to align maintenance activities with production goals, maximizing equipment uptime and minimizing plant disruptions.
  • Capital Project Collaboration: Work closely with Plant Engineering on capital initiatives, managing support from external contractors and equipment manufacturers.
  • Safety & Environmental Adherence: Collaborate with Plant Safety and Environmental Management to ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA regulations, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Champion, implement, and oversee a Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) process in collaboration with Engineering and Operations teams.
  • Team Development: Lead, nurture, and mentor team members, ensuring they undergo necessary training and align with company values.
  • Continuous Improvement: Advocate for continuous improvement and problem-solving, applying Lean principles to optimize systems and processes.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial-related studies preferred.
