Job Description

Our client is a multinational integrated logistics & transportation company with a variety of cargo vessels.The Commercial Sales Representative will manage undertake market research and analysis, create and maintain client relationships and identify new business opportunities that would generate income for the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee logistics for shipment and handle charter party and bill of lading terms.
  • Understand freight trends, charter rates, and currency fluctuations.
  • Generate new business leads and recognize new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Negotiate and agree on business contracts.
  • Approve sales budgets and sales development projects.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to inform business plans.
  • Generate new product ideas and test feasibility.
  • Assist in setting and monitoring financial targets.
  • Ensure that client concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Create commercial plans that depict business strategies and align with market opportunities.
  • Monitor and document pipeline improvement areas that would foster sales effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies in line with the organization s guidelines and policies.
  • Analyze and make recommendations on the organization s technology and its effect on the sales functions.
  • Review sales performance frequently and refine sales strategies where necessary.


Requirements

  • A Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or any related field of study.
  • A Master s degree is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience working within sales operations in the freight/logistics sector; 3 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Working knowledge in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Excellent organization and leadership skills.
  • Strong budgeting and cost-controlling skills.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate at senior level
  • Must be customer oriented
  • Excellent business/ commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Working knowledge in market research and analysis.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
