The primary responsibilities for this role include hiring, mentoring, collaboration with other leaders within and support a team of software engineers in the delivery of product commitments.

Job Responsibilities

• Help to search for, interview, and hire talented software engineers

• Assist in Agile project management ceremonies and processes

• Collaborate with Product Management and other functional areas to help Scrum team members during refinement and sprint planning

• Hold regular 1:1s with direct reports and provide regular feedback on performance

• Identify ways to improve product quality, security, and performance

• Create goals and objectives for direct reports that are tied to mission

• Support technical decision making and provide guidance when needed

Basic Qualifications

• 8 years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years of experience in a software engineering management or leadership role

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field

• Clear and coherent verbal and written communication skills, including visual representations of data

• Comfortable working in an iterative Agile development environment using Scrum methodology

• Experience in SaaS software development

Desired Characteristics

• Experience driving a culture of continuous improvement

• Knowledge of healthcare standards (ex. FHIR) and interoperability

• Experience building successful teams

• Experience with blockchain or distributed ledger technologies

• Ability to drive towards consensus as well as be decisive

• Comfortable providing 360 feedback
