Are you a skilled Mechanical Designer looking for your next career move Our client a premier EPCM company in Calgary specializing in small to mediumsized oil and gas processing projects is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join their expert team.
Role Overview: As a Senior Mechanical Designer you will report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and collaborate with the projects team on diverse mechanical and multidiscipline engineering designs. Your role will involve:
- Preparing and checking detailed drawings using AutoCAD and CadWorx including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) Plot Plans 3D Modelling with piping layouts Bills of Materials and Civil/Structural drawings
- Designing and reviewing mechanical and civil drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry codes and client requirements
- Assembling Construction Work Packages (CWPs)
- Leading and checking designs from junior and intermediate designers
- Conducting field trips to client locations and fabrication shops for asbuilt purposes (approx. 10%)
Requirements
- 10 years of professional mechanical design/drafting experience
- Engineering Technology Diploma or Certificate from a recognized Technical Faculty
- Eligibility for membership with ASET (CET or PTech)
- Standard First Aid and H2S Alive certifications are an asset
- Valid Alberta driver s license
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and CadWorx
- Knowledge of CSA Z662 and ASME B31.3
- Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent time management attention to detail and communication skills
- Related experience in the oil and gas industry is advantageous

Qualifications: Engineering Design & Drafting Technology graduate or equivalent education/experience. Experience in piping process equipment in a fabrication facility is an asset. Knowledge of ASME/ANSI B31.3, CADWorx, and AutoCAD. Comprehensive understanding of P&IDs and piping layouts. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Location: Rocky View County, Alberta (near SE Calgary) Reliable transportation required (no public transit service) Schedule: Full-time, 8-hour shifts In-person work
