About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detailoriented Staff Accountant to join their finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in the field of accounting. You also will be asked to do some client facing sales as well for the hotel.

Responsibilities

Financial Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records.
• Record financial transactions including accounts payable accounts receivable and general ledger entries.
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
• Assist in the monthend and yearend closing processes.
• Generate financial reports for management and external stakeholders.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget variances and provide explanations for discrepancies.

Tax Compliance:

• Assist with tax preparation and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Prepare and file sales tax returns and other required tax documents.

Audit Support:

• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
• Participate in the development of audit schedules and procedures.

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends anomalies and areas for improvement.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance department.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes.
