Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Wrexham to assist with the appointment of a Family Support Worker on a 6month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 14.67 18.40 per Hour

Summary:

We are seeking a Family support worker to collaborate with Wrexham Local Authority Childrens Social Care teams in delivering structured and highquality support to children young people and families. This role involves supporting caseholding social workers by facilitating supervised contacts providing onetoone assistance aligned with Care and Support Plans and aiding in the transportation of children during foster care transitions.

Responsibilities:

  • Service Delivery: Work closely with Childrens Social Care teams to provide supervised contacts onetoone support and assist with child transportation during foster care transitions. Ensure all work aligns with Care and Support Plans and Child Protection Plans.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain positive relationships with children families foster carers and external stakeholders while responding empathetically to their needs.
  • Operational Support: Work flexibly within core hours ensuring compliance with legislation policies and procedures. Maintain accurate records and deliver interventions within agreed role boundaries.
  • Professional Development: Commit to continuous professional development by engaging in training and staying updated on best practices and policy changes.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
  • Proven ability to work systematically and within established role boundaries.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with service users and stakeholders.
  • Valid drivers license with the ability to travel for workrelated purposes.

  • Advanced Communication Skills: Ability to convey complex information clearly and empathetically.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • SelfMotivation: Ability to work independently and manage workload under pressure.
  • Responsive to Needs: Recognize and respond to the evolving needs of service users.
  • Professional Relationships: Build and maintain professional boundaries while fostering trust and support.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an enhanced DBS
