Job Description: IT Organizational Change Management Lead
(Note: This is not an IT Change Management role that focuses on technical or feature change requests within the software development cycle. It is Organizational Change Management.)
POSITION OVERVIEW: Organizational Change Management (OCM) Lead will be aligned to key priority projects that have significant enterprise end user impact and work with IT program/project teams to both plan and execute a specific set of OCM activities. Scope includes but not limited to driving strong partnerships and working alongside program/capability/project owners Enterprise Communications team and other teams to develop the highlevel change strategy and execute those deliverables. This role is accountable to execute all deliverables defined under their ownership and deliver on the defined strategy.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Plan develop and implement strategic organizational change management including stakeholder engagement and internal communications to support and promote adoption technology rollouts and necessary actions with significant internal enterprise enduser (employee and contractor) impact.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the delivery of Organizational Change Management to increase the understanding and adoption of key technology capabilities and platforms with users across UHG. Analyze and drive stakeholder or enduser needs implement strategic communications and change tactics. Gathers input and defines solutions for complex change management and communication needs both internal and external to the IT organization. Design develop and deliver successful change plans tactics and communication mechanisms messages channels systems materials and tools to address audience needs and expected impacts. Builds business relationships with key Business and Project/Program stakeholders Defines change management metrics and reporting to assess the impact of change management activities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Change management plan & tactics design develop and implement change plans designed to address organizational change impacts; drive identification of stakeholders/audiences and needs (on internal external and individual project basis) designed to help minimize the impact to the Business. Plans will include: Stakeholder engagement plan including sponsor and project team coaching regarding change management Change/impact action plan based on change impact assessments. Communications plan (including status end user manager and sponsor communications) to ensure communications alignment with project objectives and business unit / geography priorities. Develop communications channels and messages routines and specialized communications efforts may work with site change leads for optimization. Evaluate effectiveness of efforts and develop templates and process standards that embody best
practices. Create feedback mechanisms for continual process and deliverables improvement. Develops relationship and serves as a liaison between business stakeholders and users global IT programs/projects. Required Qualifications:
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS REQUIRED: Proven ability to translate business and technical changes into storytelling that resonates with a variety of audiences that have no knowledge of technical language. Ability to understand and explain endaudience needs and requirements.
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
Demonstrated influence management skills decision making abilities and problem resolution skills Demonstrated balance of strategic and detailed tactical thought processes.
Strong critical thinking skills. Proven project management experience across a broad or complex organization. Proven record of successfully managing and delivering significant business changes with particular knowledge of change practices. Experience working globally with diverse cultural and language groups and across business functions. Proven ability to work with all levels of an organization with excellent downward lateral and upward written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated leadership in problem analysis and solution recommendation capabilities. Very strong presentation written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal and influence management skills with the ability to build strong partnerships and collaborate.
IDEAL BACKGROUND: 6 years experience leading medium to large organizational change management initiatives with a focus on communications strategy and execution at a large complex organization. Employee/CustomerExperiencefocused leader with exposure to UX principles and best practices. TOP REQUIREMENTS: Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Can easily collaborate and build relationships.
Demonstrate successful experience leading Organizational Change Management initiatives in complex environments and delivering significant business results. Proscicertified and/or 3 years OCM experience at large complex organization. Team player with the ability to operate independently (proactive selfstarter).
Ability to influence and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders; creates winwins. Proven record of successfully managing and delivering significant business changes with deep knowledge of change practices and measurement techniques. Experience in internal communications. Accountable & actionoriented. Strong sense of initiative; ability to determine root causes and address issues head on
Experience creating key messages and presentations for a variety of audiences; ability to adjust messaging.
