Purpose
- Under the guidance of the Head of Marketing for East Africa manage clients dollars (Cash and VIK) directly impacting Visa net revenue and influencing the volume of business with a client with sharp focus on driving NR and Margins
- This role is also accountable for the execution of the Visa marketing strategy for East / Eastern Africa . This regional plan will include all business priorities including VIK delivery XBorder EComm SMB New Payment Flows and Digital solutions and merchant partnerships
- Working with Research and Insights team identify opportunities in the market through tracking of key payment trends cardholder behavior etc. and evaluate them to create strategic recommendations for future business propositions.
- Collaborate with merchants and clients in the region in the creation of usage campaigns provide opportunities for bank leveraging off Visa campaigns and work with both internal and external stakeholders to develop joint marketing campaigns.
Principal Responsibilities
Client Marketing Management 80% of the Role
- Develop and provide realization of comarketing strategies and plans with the strategic clients of Visa in East Africa
- Articulate a Client Engagement strategy and approach for clients ensuring relevant engagement frameworks for various tiers of clients.
- Drive diversification of Marketing services to clients focusing on those that add value to clients and deliver higher margins for Visa.
- Ensure efficiencies in delivery of client marketing initiatives across East Africa.
- Develop and implement annual comarketing strategies with key clients in East Africa ensuring clear revenue realization.
- Continually monitor existing and potential competitors marketing activities to identify new opportunities or highlight potential causes for business concern. Propose opportunities where Visas and the clients differentiated proposition can be used to counter these competitors threats.
- Work closely with Visa Consulting & Analytics to identify opportunities to grow revenues within client portfolios and deliver executions to capitalize on these opportunities
- Earn marketing thought leadership with clients by providing insight driven data focused and actionable marketing recommendations and solutions for assigned products and services
- Develop and foster strong relationships with clients and contribute positively to the Net Promoter Score from clients.
- Provide support of all marketing activities and product development with appropriate market analysis and consumer research available.
- Develop media and digital benchmarks and KPIs for marketing activities within the scope of responsibilities to improve effectiveness (together with media agency)
- Provide quantitative postcampaign and regular performance analysis in due time and incorporate learnings into future projects.
Country Marketing Execution 20% of the role
- Working closely with the Head of Marketing provide Marketing support activity to deliver regional goals.
- Contribute to the identification of new market opportunities that will increase services to clients merchants and cardholders and increase the value of the Visa brand.
- Effectively manage all stakeholders responsible for the successful implementation of activities including agencies suppliers merchants and others as appropriate. Ensure key stakeholders are fully informed of all Marketing activities.
- Drive commercialization and activation of global sponsorship and partnerships local sponsorships and product platform initiatives in the region through clients as well as VisaLed initiatives
- Working with the measurement team deliver return on investment for all client and Visa marketing spends.
- Manage the allocated budget for respective assets and activities and ensure all activities are performed within parameters fully and on time in accordance with Visa policies and requirements.
Success measured by performance against KPIs such as Net Revenue total PV with the client total volume of marketing activities performed for the client client NPS.
Decision Making & Complexity
- Accountable for planning and implementation of all comarketing activities with the Visas clients

- Administration of the allocated marketing budget to include monitoring budget log management variance analysis liaison with finance and reporting of monthly budget forecasts
- Reporting Relationships & Interactions
- This position reports to Head of Marketing for East Africa. The candidate will interact with various levels of management across the organization Global Regional and within Sub Saharan Africa. Strong interpersonal skills are required to address ongoing needs of the organization.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Significant experience in marketing. Minimum 5 years in a role related to planning and executing 360 degrees marketing strategies and campaigns.

Regional Experience: managing marketing initiatives across East African markets ( Kenya Uganda Tanzania Mauritius Ethiopia ) Preferred
