Job Overview

Our Client is looking to hire a Field Based Account Manager tasked with supporting the Organization realize its strategic intent on growth quality customer numbers within the area and depots assigned whilst optimizing on efficiency in route to market through cost and profit optimization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify new markets for growth and expansion.

  • Covering daytoday business support activities keeping a close relationship with the customers

  • To utilize all elements of the Sales Management Process (SMP) to effectively analyze implement and control the opportunities within assigned territory.

  • To manage actively and develop the growth of key products within the sales territory.

  • To target the appropriate customer groups to ensure successful introduction of new products.

  • Carry out market intelligence and advise top management on competitor activities and industry developments that may impact our operations.

  • Carry out Data analysis and make informed strategic decisions based on qualified data

  • In collaboration with higher management develop and implement an action plan to increase and grow the business

  • Reporting market conditions and competitors activities and gathering intelligence through the customer network

  • To ensure timely collection of all the dues / overdue.

  • To ensure your knowledge and skills are continuously developed for the benefit of both yourself and the company.

  • To take full responsibility for all assigned company assets.

  • To ensure compliance with all company values policies & processes

  • Keep close cooperation with the other functions (depot sales finance customer experience etc.)

  • Spending at least 70% of the time in facetoface meetings with the customers

  • Promote and market all product ranges services and value propositions

  • conduct presentations to the customers



Requirements

Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Commercial Sales and Operations role in a fastpaced working environment

  • Extensive travel is required to succeed in this role.

  • Bachelor s degree in business administration or Commerce/Economics

A Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, or related fields, a Master's Degree is also desirable. Professional qualifications in Sales and Marketing. At least 10 years extensive experience in senior management level, preferably within the Energy sector. Experience in the Ugandan or East Africa petroleum industry shall be added advantage. Experience in managing budgets effectively, financial management, setting up effective metrics and business processes. Leadership experience with a thorough knowledge of marketing principles, product or service management, sales and business development, and is target driven with the ability to acquire and close contracts. Analytical skills and ability to interpret sales performance and market trend information. Proven ability and experience managing and leading high performance management teams to achieve significant sales revenue targets. Demonstrable experience in strategy planning and execution. The ability to understand changing market dynamics, translating them into an actionable strategy and implementing the strategy to achieve pre-set objectives. Demonstrated strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the strategic marketing and selling process.
