We have built our reputation by working with only the finest overseas suppliers. Since 1983 Overseas Food Trading has imported finished food products from Europe Asia and Canada. We mainly deal with retail clients (chains clubs and gourmet distributors) and food service (distributors) offering our expertise in Mediterranean products sweets frozen products and dairy products.

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

The HR Specialist at Overseas Food Trading LTD will provide handson operational support to the HR Executive (CHRO). The HR specialist will work closely with all departments within the company and be involved in several Human Resources functions with a special focus on recruitment and onboarding employee relations HRIS compliance benefits administration and training.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

HUMAN RESOURCES DUTIES

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Assist with the recruitment process by posting job openings screening resumes and scheduling interviews.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding activities including paperwork completion training and introductions to company policies and procedures.

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist with the resolution of employee relations issues including conflicts grievances and disciplinary actions.
  • Foster positive relationships between employees and management through effective communication and conflict resolution strategies.
  • Plan and organize employee events to ensure a culture of inclusion
  • Organize charitable and volunteer events for causes that Overseas Food Trading LTD supports.

Benefits Administration:

  • Assist with managing employee benefits programs including health insurance retirement plans and other voluntary benefits.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment changes and inquiries ensuring accurate recordkeeping and compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate open enrollment processes and communicate benefits updates to employees as needed.
  • Administer and track FMLA.
  • Process unemployment claims and employee verification letters.

HRIS compliance:

  • HRIS (Human Resources Information System) data entry and maintenance ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of employee records.
  • Assist with the implementation of HR policies employee handbook updates procedures and initiatives to support organizational objectives.
  • Maintain employee files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

Training and Development:

  • Assist with the coordination of employee training and development programs.
  • Track and evaluate training effectiveness and employee feedback to improve future programs.

JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

The following describes the general qualifications and physical sensory and mental abilities normally associated with performing the essential functions of this position.

Education and Experience:

  • Twoyear degree or bachelor's degree in administration psychology or human resources preferred.
  • Minimum 25 years’ experience in Human Resources required.
  • SHRMCP certification – a plus.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Knowledge of HR employment related laws/practices
  • Highly proficient with MS Excel Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with Google workspace Microsoft Office 365 applications: Sharepoint / Business Central
  • HRIS exp. a plus (ADP BambooHR Paychex Paylocity Peoplesoft…) and or ability to learn new technology systems in a short timeframe.

Language and Communication Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and influence all levels of staff.
  • Strong relationship building and customer service skills.

Physical sensory and motor demands:

Frequent standing and sitting. Intermittent squatting bending twisting lifting. This position requires excellent visual acuity and auditory sense. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
