Job Description

Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer Healthcare Projects

Location: Kansas City Metropolitan Area KS

Employment Type / Standard Operating Hours: Fulltime

Eligibility: U.S. Citizens Permanent Residents Visa candidates Applicants must have permanent work authorization.

  • This role demands occasional travel to project sites and participation in meetings to ensure successful project delivery.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead project teams in designing and documenting mechanical systems for healthcare buildings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of mechanical system design ensuring alignment with client objectives budgets and coordination across disciplines. This role requires staying updated with engineering trends engaging in professional development and cultivating positive client relationships. Candidates should possess a strong background in healthcare design meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute all mechanical system calculations layouts and designs for assigned projects.
  • Maintain and apply current engineering codes and best practices.
  • Oversee the development of construction documents for new buildings renovations and facility additions.
  • Conduct site visits review shop drawings and address constructionrelated queries.
  • Identify and implement strategies to enhance project costefficiency.
  • Mentor mechanical designers and support the director in quality assurance reviews.

MUST HAVE :Bachelors degree from an ABETaccredited program 8 years in mechanical engineering and experience designing healthcare building systems. Candidates must know mechanical energy and FGI codes have passed the FE Exam and be proficient in Microsoft Office Trane Trace and Revit. Key skills include attention to detail organization time management and effective communication. Valid drivers license and an insured vehicle for work tasks.

NICE TO HAVE: Medical gas design experience mentorship or quality assurance experience a PE license familiarity with additional engineering software costefficiency expertise and construction administration experience.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering from an ABETaccredited program.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in the engineering field with a strong focus on mechanical systems particularly in healthcare building systems design.
  • Code Knowledge: Proficiency in mechanical energy and FGI codes.
  • Preferred Experience: Medical gas system design (not required).

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam (required).
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license (preferred not required).
  • Valid drivers license and access to an insured personal vehicle for work purposes.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft Office Trane Trace and Revit.
  • Work Authorization: Must have permanent work authorization without sponsorship requirements.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to manage and execute essential duties with a high level of accuracy.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Organizational Skills: Adept at managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a teamoriented environment.
