Field IT Inventory Stock Take Officer SYDNEY/ CANBERRA/ ADELAIDE/MELBOURNE
We are seeking a highly motivated and detailoriented individual to join our team for a shortterm contract to assist with an IT inventory stock take. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient tracking and management of IT equipment software and related assets. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with Australian citizenship who possesses an active Baseline Security Clearance or is able to obtain one and undergo a police check.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical audits of IT hardware and software assets across various locations or departments.
- Accurately record and update inventory data in the designated asset management system.
- Verify asset conditions serial numbers and ensure proper tagging or labeling.
- Identify discrepancies between physical stock and system records and report findings to the inventory manager.
- Assist with the identification of obsolete surplus or damaged assets for disposal or reassignment.
- Support the team with preparation and execution of IT asset tracking procedures.
- Assist with the reconciliation of asset records in preparation for reporting.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure all assets are properly accounted for.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to security protocols in handling sensitive IT data.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies procedures and security standards related to IT inventory management.
Key Requirements:
- Australian Citizenship is a mandatory requirement.
- Active Baseline Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Must be able to undergo and pass a police check.
- Previous experience in inventory management asset auditing or related fields is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent organisational and timemanagement skills.
- Familiarity with asset management software and basic IT hardware knowledge.
- Ability to follow instructions and comply with security and procedural guidelines.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and meet deadlines.
- This position requires the candidate to undergo an Australian police check and hold or be eligible to obtain the necessary security clearance for working in sensitive environments.
- The successful candidate must be available to start in End of Feb/Early March 2025
- Flexibility to travel to interstate

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience working in IT or within a government or securitysensitive environment.
- Knowledge of IT hardware components network equipment and software licenses.
- Familiarity with Australian government security protocols and IT asset management frameworks.
