Job Description
Overview: Skilled GIS Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in GIS technologies and tools with a strong background in GIS analysis data management and problemsolving. The role requires a detailoriented individual who can support GIS projects troubleshoot issues and provide technical guidance to ensure the effective use of GIS systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for GIS software and tools including ArcGIS QGIS and related applications.
- Assist in the creation editing and management of GIS data layers and databases.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to GIS data software and hardware.
- Perform data analysis and generate maps reports and visualizations as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to understand GIS requirements and provide solutions.
- Maintain and update GIS documentation and workflows.
- Assist with the integration of GIS data with other systems and technologies.
- Conduct training sessions and provide support for GIS users.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Geography GIS Cartography or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience with GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS Desktop/Pro QGIS) and related tools (e.g. ArcPy Python).
- Strong understanding of GIS concepts data formats projections and coordinate systems.
- Experience in data management spatial analysis and map creation.
- Familiarity with database management systems (e.g. SQL Spatial Databases).
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical users.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Revit and Dynamo for GIS integrations
