Scope of Position
The District Training & Personnel Development Manager (PDM) drives the employee development cycle (selection onboarding training performance and growth) for the district enabling a culture of learning and development for all employees. The PDM acts as an expert personneldevelopment resource for both employees and managers and is a peer role to other managers in the district. The PDM also works in close collaboration with the Regional Training team to achieve employee development goals of the region.
Job Description
- Manages the Smart Recruiters process from posting to closing job adverts.
- Works with the districts management team to support the interview process from beginning to end.
- Conducts Interviews when necessary.
- Drives the development of recruiting tools as needed.
- Works in tandem with the districts management team to ensure a consistent and highly effective onboarding experience for new hires and/or transfers.
- Supports the districts management team to ensure new hires are properly aligned with foundational skills knowledge and resources to succeed in their job function.
- Drives a robust training program that meets the districts employee development goals.
- Collaborates with the districts management team to create training plans focusing on employee development and growth.
- Ensures relevant training is delivered consistently including but not limited to global regional and district training requirements
- Supports the districts management team to ensure employee skills and knowledge gaps are addressed timely and efficiently.
- Works with SMEs for PDC functionality and all available training and development programs/tools.
- Ensures solid understanding and use of the PDC across all levels at the district.
- Acts as a Career Coach at the district.
- Supports upskilling people managers to properly assess employees and conduct meaningful development conversations.
- Encourages a culture of frequent employee feedback and development.
- Advocates for the creation and fostering of development plans for everyone in the district.
- Supports the district in finding innovative ways to increase career progression and mobility.
- Assists the districts management team with succession planning and talent development strategy implementation.
- Supports the district in the implementation and execution of employee recognition programs.
- Monitors retention and employee satisfaction at the district and support plans to improve in this area.
Qualifications :
- Global logistics industry knowledge preferred
- Good computer skills (e.g. MS Excel MS Word MS PowerPoint)
- Fluent in English
- Management experience preferred
- Proficiency in employee development skills and knowledge to include:
- Interviewing
- Training
- Coaching and Mentoring
- Employee feedback
- Assessing performance
- Goal setting
- Development conversation
