Job Description
AHRC NYC is seeking young adults to join their Advance & Earn (A&E) Direct Support Professional program. The A&E program is a PAID Internship Program for NYC Youths (1824) who are looking to become Direct Support Professionals. This Paid Internship program prepares NYC youth for a rewarding career as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who provide vital assistance and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
ENROLL NOW for the Fall Program which runs from FEBRUARY 25 through JUNE25
Classroom learning held in Staten Island at 25 Victory Blvd 3rd Floor
Internships are available in all 5 boroughs.
PROGRAM PROVIDES:
20 weeks of highlevel training with mentorship from industry leaders.
Paid Internships at $16 per hour for up to 250 hours in one of the top NonProfit agencies in the field
Nationally Recognized Certification from the National Alliance of Direct Support Professionals
Daily lunch and MetroCard
Assistance in accessing necessary services and benefits
Job placement assistance
Inperson small group sessions with individualized attention
Counseling and social/emotional support

Qualifications :
- Must be between the ages of 1824 years old
- Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must live in any of the five boroughs of New York City
- Must be out of school and have no postsecondary degree (Associates or above)
- Must be unemployed or work less than 25 hours per week
- Are legally authorized to work in the United States
Additional Information :
Job Type: Parttime
Pay Rate: $16 per hour
Schedule: MondayFriday 15 25 hours per week
