Description
The Ecommerce Manager for Japan will be responsible for working with a crossfunctional team thru endtoend management of our commercial operations owning the ecommerce strategy & performance and overseeing the relationship with all ecommerce platforms.

The ideal ECommerce candidate is a team player worldclass ecommerce operator with solid experience managing an online business in Japan especially with key players like Rakuten & Amazon as well as D2C businesses.

The position will report to the GM of Japan and will collaborate closely with the marketing team Finance Manager and the international team.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work for a bestinclass company that is a global leader in highquality hair removal and skincare solutions. He/She will play a key role in shaping a growing Japanese ecommerce business with the support of cross functional teams and 3rd party agency partners.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the strategic and operational lead on brand s ecommerce business working with ecommerce agencies to set up new stores and/ or manage existing stores develop & optimize portfolio x pricing x channel strategy.
  • Oversee product and promotional campaigns develop and optimize product detail pages understand user journeys and form analysis insights and recommendations to drive KPIs
  • Above scope includes all current & new EC platforms as well as D2C site.
  • Collaborate with various crossfunctional departments to ensure assortments product launches promotional activity advertising and ecommerce catalog content lead to desired business results driving sales and conversion rates
  • Develop strong operational relationship with ecommerce platform/customer to gain support
  • Allocate ecommerce budget to maximize revenue generation and ROI
  • Manage tools analyze dashboards and reports to monitor digital shelf performance SEO metrics advertising performance pricing updates content changes and competitive landscape and share
  • Provide consistent and actionable performance analysis reporting and insights that feed back into the future strategies
  • Proactively monitor digital shelf to evaluate compliance customer reviews product ratings and evaluate the competitive landscape to identify opportunities.
  • Manage online pricing strategies such as markdowns and promotions in collaboration with the team with the aim to optimize net revenue management and margins
  • Manage store operations including forecasts inventory merchandising fulfillment.
  • Develop ecommerce and performance marketing strategies including live broadcasts and promotional plans in accordance with the seasonal calendar
  • Work with the marketing team to develop top of the funnel marketing strategy to drive traffic to our stores
  • Analyze ecommerce/ performance marketing activities: create reports to demonstrate effectiveness ROI and opportunities for growth
  • Analyze purchase customer behavior: optimize path to conversion minimize funnel drop off etc.
  • Identify new online sales channels where we can be competitive
  • Monitor competitor sales and marketing on ecommerce platforms
  • Develop strong understanding of category dynamics and drivers
  • Perform overall QA of all brand and product sites/pages
  • Stay up to date with industry trends NPDs new ad formats emerging technologies and incorporate them into our paid media strategies
  • Work diligently on maximizing consumer reviews
  • Research and dissect ecommerce metrics recommend strategies to correct maintain or improve the ecommerce business performance.
  • Deliver weekly monthly and quarterly reporting on site metrics communicating user trends and recommend improvements based on benchmarks and goals

Must Haves

  • Written & Spoken fluency in Japanese & English
  • 35 years of experience in related role
  • Experience running ecommerce and/ or marketing within the medical / beauty device environment
  • Passionate about building working relationships with ecommerce platforms & agency partners
  • Proven track record of driving revenue and profitability
  • Indepth functional knowledge of how to sell and market on Rakuten & Amazon
  • Understanding or experience of managing performance marketing/ ecommerce marketing programs including paid search display email retargeting and ability to develop related strategy
  • Project planning and management capabilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small but growing team
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills with crossfunctional team
  • Handson experience required with strong cando attitude & initiative
  • Strong knowledge and an expert of digital marketing channels and platforms in Japan including but not limited to Line Instagram X YouTube TikTok etc
  • Proficiency in digital marketing analytics tools commonly used in Japan such as NINT and SaaS analytics platforms (Similarweb Semrush etc)
  • Experience in optimization of digital performance marketing based on data metrics.
  • Strategic and fast thinker with a datadriven approach to decisionmaking and problemsolving.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
  • The person will have an affinity for local consumers and customers and bring passion strength of character rolling sleeve up attitude and a bias for action.
  • A head for business.
  • Strong leadership skills or capacity to develop these.

Ideal Experiences

Consumerfocused digital activation:

  • Successful handson experience in a productfocused consumerfacing sector or broad consumer products with a track record of building digital activation plans targeting different stages of the customer journey/market funnel (Awareness consideration and conversion).
  • Promotion experience in relevant categories: Experience promoting products in relevant categories such as beauty devices and skincare and personal care appliances within ecommerce environment in Japan.
