Core Objective
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for delivering project solutions as well as onsite electrical commissioning based on existing engineering standards. This role involves applying standardized solutions to meet project specifications ensuring that the design and implementation align with predefined guidelines. In addition the Electrical Engineer is responsible for creating and modifying electrical diagrams particularly for asbuilt documentation to accurately reflect the final installation. The focus is on the application of standardized solutions while any deviations or complex problems are handled in collaboration with other engineering functions.
Customers: End users are located throughout the United States and Canada. We work with many of the leading integrators as our Sales partners.
As our ELECTRICAL CONTROLS ENGINEER you
- Electrical support of Commissioning by sharing your expertise of the final installation and system integration
- support the creation of the functional description specifications regarding the installation of electrical equipment and the commissioning of controls
- draft documentation such as SOPs and contribute to creating manuals
- create schematics and network diagrams
- design controls algorithms and safety systems
- test and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems and processes
- source external vendors for materials
- contribute to the creation of risk assessment documents that identify hazards in a system
- contribute to the mechanical system layout drawings regarding all electrical and controls specifications including cable routing
- contribute to the development of test plans alongside the Commissioning Team
- make Full Load Amps calculations
- ensure UL listed components are selected and cabinet is assembled compliant to such standards relevant knowledge or experience of specifications of UL508A NEC and NFPA79
- be present onsite at First Power Up to make sure everything is operational after rack installation and to make sure everything is functional before our robots are commissioned
- be present onsite when commissioning is in final stages to prepare the Movu system for handover to the endcustomer
- perform Site Acceptance Testing on electrical perspective
- Keep control over the as built documentation on the electrical design
Qualifications :

- Experience with electrical engineering
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Automation Robotics Electrical ElectroMechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
- Experience with automation controls monitoring systems safety area scanners and safety controllers
- Ability to install configure and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical system
- Comfortable using 2D (required) and 3D (nice to have) CAD software for design of electrical diagrams and schematics knowledge of UL508 law
- Experience with ePlan or Autocad Electrical would be the cherry on top

- You live either in commutable distance to our Romeoville IL office or close to a major airport; preferably somewhere in EST or CST
- Willing and able to travel to customer sites at an average of 50% usually no longer than 2 weeks at a time; throughout the United States and occasionally to Canada; the travel percentage is expected to reduce to 30% over time as we grow the team
- For onboarding and training travel to our headquarters in Belgium (usually no more than 2 weeks at a time)
- We work closely with our European colleagues. The morning hours are the most important so we can connect with them while our business hours overlap across time zones. If you love starting your workday midmorning or later you would hate it here. Most people start their workday at 8 am CST and some love to start earlier so they can wrap up earlier at the end of the day.
