Job Description

The Sr. Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for conceptual design component specification system hardware design and programming. This role involves managing highlevel projects from concept to production while collaborating closely with other engineers and technical staff. You will also provide engineering support for field service technicians and technical training at client facilities as needed. The position supports existing products and operates within the constraints of current methods and standards. Up to 20% domestic travel may be required with potential international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and test new designs for highspeed automation packaging machines
  • Design complete electrical systems from concept to prototype and production
  • Travel to customer locations for software or hardware repair and installations (approx. 20%)
  • Create wiring schematics program diagrams and complete bills of materials
  • Provide support to field service technicians and deliver technical training as necessary
  • Work collaboratively with engineers to solve design problems
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience in capital equipment design and service
  • 710 years of related experience in highspeed automation and electrical design
  • Proficient in CAD software for electrical design documentation (e.g. SolidWorks Electrical AutoCAD)
  • Experience designing Stepper motor Servo and touchscreencontrolled capital equipment systems; packaging experience a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC systems
  • Strong organization communication and project management skills
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel up to 20% including internationally
