Job Description

This role: To be responsible for the overall ownership 33 132kV switchgear and primary substation projects from award to completion for various renewable technologies. The Major Project Manager will be a key point of contact and will work closely with the Commercial Design and Supply Chain departments to ensure our projects are delivered first time every time against budget and in full.

Youll have a proven track record of:

  • Deliver completed projects on time routinely
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and clients
  • Define and embed project control and governance
  • Design and maintain accurate and current programs of work for the projects they deliver
  • Provide Project planning Milestone management Scope management Resource forecasting; Financial Management; Change Management across the project portfolio.
  • Provide routine updates and reports at an operational and commercial level
  • Oversee project costs and ensure finances are well managed
  • Support the Commercial team with project feedback recommendations and lessons learned
  • Deliver projects sustainably in consideration of competence capability and safety
  • Take decisions as and when required
  • Attend site when necessary to troubleshoot or monitor quality
  • Conduct audits
  • Maximise profitability for the business at all times considering innovative or better practices to deliver project efficiency wherever it is possible to do so
  • Ensure crossprogramme dependencies are managed and the dependency log is accurately maintained
  • Ensure efficient change control methods and process are utilised.



Requirements

You ll be a successful Major Projects Project Manager at Sinewave if you re


  • Proficient in the use of Productivity and Collaboration Software such as Microsoft Office Microsoft Teams SharePoint etc. across multiple platforms such as smart phones tablets laptops etc.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to use own initiative as well as work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent listening skills with ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Extensive Project Management experience particularly within the electrical utility industry
  • Project Management qualification (e.g. Prince 2 APM PMI)
  • Proven track record of effectively managing both projects and employees
  • Competence in MS Project or equivalent Project Management software
  • Ability to work with multiple teams at any one time
  • Understanding of the Project life cycle from ownership to completion
  • Project profit and loss forecasting and delivery
  • Project reporting particularly progress against target and budget
  • Agility in challenging situations with the ability to find appropriate costeffective solutions
  • Customer Management
  • Ability to drive and deliver complex multimillionpound projects
  • Excellent organisation and coordination skills

Certifications / Qualifications

  • Experience working for and ICP or DNO at EHV voltage levels (33132kV)
  • Project Management qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. Prince 2 APM PMI)
  • Full UK driving license (Minimum of 3 Penalty Points)
  • Project Management qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. Prince 2 APM PMI)
  • Emergency first aid at work qualification
  • Experience working alongside Design teams
  • Experience working in the electrical industry
  • Experience working tendering
  • SMSTS
  • Comply with all company policies procedures and business ethics codes including the antibribery policy while adhering to the Environmental and Quality Management System in alignment with ISO standards and the requirements of the NERS accreditation.

When you join you will go through our top-notch induction and onboarding process and have opportunities to develop further through our in house training academy. You'll have a proven track record of: Assessing potentially hazardous and dangerous situations, taking appropriate action to ensure the safety of personnel, other site operatives and the public. Undertaking site specific risk assessments and creating RAMS, and competent in issuing and cancelling safety documents. Ensuring personnel and your wider team understand duties under safety documents. Carrying out network operations under instruction from the Network Control Engineer. Understanding the local network anomalies and ensuring correct phase rotation. You'll already have experience & qualifications in: Currently hold (or have held) authorisations up to 33kV including permit to work (accepting 11KV with extensive experience). CSCS (affiliated). The use of Productivity and Collaboration Software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint etc. across multiple platforms such as smart phones, tablets, laptops etc. Full UK driving license (Maximum of 3 points).
