Job Description
Job Summary:
We are hiring Electrical Cable Termination Technicians for a shipping yard project in Singapore. This role requires candidates with strong technical expertise in terminating lowvoltage (LV) and highvoltage (HV) cables. Candidates should have previous experience in marine/industrial electrical systems and must be physically fit to handle heavyduty electrical work. UTurn candidates (those with prior work experience in Singapore and returning on a new visa) are highly preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Cable Termination: Perform precise termination of LV and HV cables for shipyard electrical systems
Crimping & Splicing: Ensure proper crimping splicing and insulation of cables
Testing & Inspection: Conduct continuity and insulation resistance testing after termination
Connector Assembly: Work with various cable connectors lugs and junction boxes
Electrical Drawings: Read and interpret wiring diagrams schematics and technical drawings
Troubleshooting: Identify and repair faulty terminations to ensure proper power distribution
Work Coordination: Collaborate with electricians engineers and supervisors to complete termination work as per project deadlines
Safety Compliance: Follow workplace safety and health (WSH) regulations and wear appropriate PPE
Documentation: Maintain accurate reports on completed terminations tests and any defects
Quality Assurance: Ensure proper shielding grounding and securing of cables
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical cable termination preferably in a shipyard/marine industry
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of lowvoltage (LV) and highvoltage (HV) electrical systems
Certification: Must have familiarity with shipyard safety regulations (WSH MOM guidelines)
Handson Experience: Skilled in working with heat shrink tubing crimping tools and insulation materials
Physical Fitness: Ability to work in tight spaces heights and confined environments
UTurn Candidates Preferred: Prior work experience in Singapore shipyards is an advantage
