Position :Electrical Cabel Maintainance Engineer
Experience : 2Years
Salary : $1500
Location : Singapore
Job Summary:
We are hiring Electrical Cable Maintenance Engineers for a shipping yard project in Singapore. This role requires candidates with expertise in maintaining troubleshooting and repairing electrical cables in a marine/industrial environment. Candidates should be skilled in preventive and corrective maintenance of lowvoltage (LV) and highvoltage (HV) cables. UTurn candidates (those with prior work experience in Singapore and returning on a new visa) are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspection testing and servicing of electrical cables and wiring systems
Cable Repairs: Diagnose and repair damaged or faulty cables ensuring uninterrupted electrical power supply
Troubleshooting: Identify electrical faults short circuits insulation failures and voltage drops
Testing & Monitoring: Use multimeters insulation testers and cable fault locators to measure cable performance
Safety Compliance: Adhere to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and wear appropriate PPE
Technical Support: Work closely with electricians engineers and supervisors to resolve complex cable issues
Emergency Repairs: Respond to urgent cable failures perform corrective maintenance and minimize downtime
Cable Installation & Replacement: Assist in replacing old cables and ensuring compliance with project requirements
Documentation: Maintain detailed maintenance logs reports and technical records for future reference
Work Coordination: Ensure proper planning and execution of maintenance schedules within project deadlines
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Experience: Minimum 2 years in electrical cable maintenance preferably in a shipyard/marine industry
Technical Knowledge: Expertise in lowvoltage (LV) and highvoltage (HV) cable maintenance and repairs
Safety Certification: Familiarity with shipyard safety regulations (WSH MOM guidelines)
Handson Experience: Skilled in using cable fault locators insulation testers and voltage meters
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Knowledge of cable degradation insulation testing and troubleshooting techniques
Physical Fitness: Ability to work in tight spaces at heights and in challenging environments
UTurn Candidates Preferred: Prior work experience in Singapore shipyards is an advantage
