Purpose of Role
- Develop the science and understanding of the relevant rare and ultrarare disease states
- Representing Sobi in supporting the quality use of medicines and favourable patient outcomes
- Contributing to the successful working model for Sobi based on partnerships credibility agility and scientific expertise
- Fieldbased medical professional joining an experienced team in growing the Australian affiliate
- Build awareness of Sobi clinical data provide education on existing and pipeline therapies company profile and to sustain professional relationships with a network of key opinion leaders in haematology and immunology
- Developing and delivering medical education initiatives
- Building and strengthening a network of partnerships with KOLs in haematology and immunology
- Contribute to strategic planning and execution of medical field activities and initiatives as well as evidence generation plan development.
- Provide field support and insights across the Sobi franchise and growing pipeline
- Sydney based with responsibility for VIC TAS SA WA
The purpose of this fieldbased position is to provide nonpromotional educational scientific and research support for the Sobi rare disease portfolio. The MSL will develop and maintain professional relationships with some of the countrys leading opinion leaders in scope of Sobi programs in the immunology and haematology franchise and proactively drive the local medical plan in accordance with local laws and the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct. In addition the MSL/SMSL will serve as strong advocate for patients by striving to increase awareness of medical and patient needs understanding of data gaps and potential means address and to support timely access to therapies.
Essential Responsibilities
Including but not limited to the following:
- Develop and communicate indepth scientific knowledge of the rare disorders of interest to Sobi including: Paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria (PNH) Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) primary HLH CAPS DLBCL and myelofibrosis.
- Conduct territory specific disease pathway and medical expert mapping
- >75% of time spent on HCP interactions HCP focused activities and/or infield activities
- Establish collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders prominent academic and clinical investigators and leaders of medical and scientific organisations who can contribute to the clinical diagnosis and management of rare disorders.
- Deliver peer level presentations to HCPs including inservices and group meetings
- Identify and communicate key clinical and research insights from key opinion leaders to help formulate Sobi research and development and business strategies.
- Respond verbally or by providing appropriate written material to unsolicited requests for on or off label medical information requests and adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Ensure good reporting and interactions with Medical colleagues from other affiliates; share and receive best practices
- Respond and support unsolicited requests for investigatorinitiated studies (IISs)
- Sobis expanding portfolio frequently requires targeted project work to determine registration and reimbursement pathways which often demands a high degree of experience autonomy and an agile approach.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting regarding compliance and safety documentation
- Sobi Australia operate as an integrated crossfunctional customerfacing team. This role is expected to fulfil the medical affairs components of that engagement and will provide appropriate support to cross functional team members and projects.
Qualifications :
- Relevant advanced qualifications in medical science clinical medicine or pharmacy. Prior experience in scientific/clinical research or clinical practice would be advantageous.
- Ideally 2 years related pharma/biotech experience including at least 1 year as an MSL or in a medical field role.
- Demonstrated understanding of the drug development and reimbursement process
- Australian Permanent Residency (or equivalent) is a requirement
- Full Australian drivers licence
- Completed Medicines Australia CEP program

- Proficient in MS Office applications and platforms
Be willing to adapt to requirements outside of the normal working hours inorder to collaborate with European colleagues.
