Your new role

As our new Senior Design Manger (Rail Buildings Sector) you will take a leading role in the delivery of multidiscipline station designs working across all stages of the project lifecycle.  You will work closely with our Project Managers under the supervision of a Project Director being accountable for planning and monitoring design activities and progress taking a leading role in design coordination issue identification and mitigation.

Your new team

You will be part of one of our Buildings engineering teams located in one of our UK offices. You will work as part of a lively team filled with people who are really excited about creating the transport options of the future. Our team is vibrant innovative international and supportive. You will collaborate with your colleagues to play a critical role in defining and delivering on projects that involve multiple key clients including HS2 Network Rail and Transport for London. You will join one of our 7 Building engineering teams to suit your location Birmingham Bristol Cambridge Chester London Manchester Southampton.  There will be opportunity to work in a hybrid office / home location.

About you

  • Chartered membership status of a relevant engineering Institution
  • Experience of Design management on rail station projects including leadership of multidisciplinary design teams within a consultancy environment Skills in setting and embedding design vision and ambition for your projects aligned with organisational goals while delivering value to our clients
  • Understanding of commercial technical requirements and constraints
  • Experience of Technical coordination interface management and integration
  • Experience of preparation and submission of design assurance packages
  • Experience in leading quality assurance implementing lessons learned and driving continuous improvement
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills building positive and collaborative relationships with key project stakeholders always acting in the best interest of both Ramboll and our clients
