Job Description

Position Summary:

The project would be operationalized across the states of Andhra Pradesh Telangana Assam
Meghalaya Karnataka Delhi NCR Haryana Jharkhand Odisha through a network of
over 3000 diverse health care providers and 50000 chemists. This role is crucial for
the inception phase and will facilitate detailed discussions and
development cycles with CIFF.


The Marketing and Commercial Operations Manager for the CIFF LARC (LongActing
Reversible Contraceptives) The project will invigorate LARC marketing efforts by integrating
advanced tools and processes. The role will involve strategic brand and
category management marketing skill development rigorous planning innovative
market testing and supply chain optimization. This position requires expertise in FMCG
and/or Ethical Products and Services marketing to ensure increased uptake and use of
LARC products and services.


Key Responsibilities:
Project Management

o Engage in detailed discussions with stakeholders to gather requirements
provide insights and drive project objectives.
o Lead the discussions during the inception phase ensuring all project
activities are on track and aligned with overall goals.
o Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely
delivery of project milestones.
o Prepare and present reports updates and presentations as required by
CIFF and other stakeholders.
Marketing Strategy and Planning:
Marketing Planning and Decision Making:

o Bring bestinclass tools and processes for marketing planning and
decisionmaking at all organizational levels.
o Instil rigorous marketing planning to achieve sustainability using consistent
P&L discipline.

Brand and Category Management:
o Apply advanced brand and category management thinking to both existing
and new portfolios.
o Develop systems to transfer marketing skills and thinking to countrylevel
marketing personnel.
o Ensure all marketing plans are developed and implemented on schedule
using established processes.

Sales and Distribution:
Sales Network Evolution:
o Catalyse the evolution of sales and distribution networks to be more cost
efficient and impactful.
Supply Chain Optimization:
o Strengthen supply chain approaches to harmonize upstream supply with
downstream demand costeffectively.

Market Research and Innovation:
DataDriven Decision Making:
o Increase datadriven decisionmaking for better consumer and market
insights and enhanced use of routine monitoring data.

Market Testing:
o Create innovative and nimble methods to testmarket and scale new
products and services.
Market Needs and Feasibility:
o Support Regional Programs Manager in identifying market needs and
feasibility of new channels and new users for LARC uptake.
o Contribute to the development of marketing study designs category/brand
management guidelines and strategic documents.

Communication and Media:

Communication Strategies:
o Develop implement and monitor communication strategies media plans
and consumer research/programs.
o Identify and develop marketing and communication processes and
guidelines including creative briefs and evaluation of proposals.
o Lead social media communication strategies working with digital agencies
and responsible teams.
Campaign Coordination:
o Coordinate highquality design and production of communication
campaigns and materials including BTL & Digital advertising and printed
materials.
o Supervise social media areas and graphic design of all materials
developed inhouse.
Coordination and Compliance:
Internal Coordination:
o Ensure close coordination with Programs Trade Research Departments
and regional teams.
o Be the link between the advertising/digital agencies and regional/local
partners.
Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with Chemonics and Project guidelines on marketing
and communication.

Qualifications:


Minimum 13 years of relevant technical experience with a master's degree or a
minimum of 15 years of relevant technical experience with a bachelor's degree.
Must have indepth professionallevel knowledge of development principles
concepts and practices especially as they relate to managing FP/RH
programming in India.
Project management expertise with an ability to move projects forward from
inception to implementation to completion. Ability to break down tasks into short
term goals as in consulting experience in a coordination and operations
management role

Experience in working with multistakeholder partnerships including
governments donors multilateral agencies developing countries and civil
society organizations.
Proven experience in FMCG and/or Ethical Products and Services marketing.
Strong skills in brand and category management.
Experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies and plans.
Ability to transfer marketing skills and thinking to diverse teams.
Expertise in supply chain management and costefficient sales network evolution.
Proficiency in datadriven decisionmaking and market research.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Knowledge of social media and digital communication strategies.
Previous experience with CIFF or USAID projects is a plus.
Familiarity with workplan development and implementation processes.
