Job Description
AECOM Buildings Places the companys architectural business unit it seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to be based out of the Halifax Nova Scotiaarea. This individual will work on Marine facilities and infrastructure such as jetties wharfs and piers.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides specialized technical input to Structural studies and design of Marine facilities and infrastructure such as jetties wharfs and piers
- As a senior technical resource the job incumbent may serve as technical advisor for team
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Prepares technical specification sections.
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position candidates must possess no less than:
- A University Degree in Structural Engineering six (6) years of relevant experience in the Structural design of buildings facilities and infrastructure
Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
- Engineering designation (P.Eng) required
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in the Structural design of Marine buildings facilities and infrastructure such as jetties wharfs and piers an asset but not mandatory
- Experience in pile foundations and concrete decks
- Experience in salt water construction
