This is a remote position.
Title: Senior Ruby on Rails Developer (Remote)

Client First Labs is a staff augmentation agency working with software studios that build products for SMBs. We focus on problemsolving best practices and mentorship while delivering highquality Rails applications.
What You ll Do:
Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices
Lead workshops/training sessions for developer teammates
Solve 90% of escalated technical issues within 24 hours
Define and implement reusable architectural patterns
Ensure modern Rails methodologies are adopted (e.g. Hotwire APIfirst design)
Implement UI designs provided by a designer with precision
Independently start and complete feature development tasks
Develop scalable architectural patterns (e.g. service objects API design)
Requirements
What We re Looking For:
3 years of Ruby on Rails experience
Nice to Have:
Contributions to opensource Rails projects
experience with mobile development using React Native with Rails API

Ruby on Rails (4+ years) Deep expertise in Rails best practices, ActiveRecord, and MVC architecture. Database Optimization Experience designing efficient database schemas, indexing strategies, and query optimization. API Development Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs. Background Job Processing Experience with Sidekiq or similar for background job processing. Testing & Quality Assurance Strong grasp of RSpec, FactoryBot, and test-driven development. Performance Optimization Ability to diagnose slow queries, caching strategies, and memory usage. Frontend Proficiency Understanding of modern frontend frameworks (React, Hotwire) for API-driven UIs. Mentorship & Leadership Experience conducting code reviews, training junior developers, and leading teams. Security Best Practices Experience with authentication, authorization (Devise, Pundit), and secure coding principles. CI/CD & DevOps Experience setting up automated deployments using tools like Docker, AWS, or Heroku.
