We are seeking an experienced Insurance Manager to join our client a leader in the FMCG industry. He/She will be responsible for overseeing the management of the company s insurance services identifying potential risks and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The Insurance Manager will also manage claims conduct risk assessments and collaborate with underwriters to ensure optimal insurance coverage for the company s operations. Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall insurance provision for the organization ensuring efficient service delivery and maximizing performance against preagreed targets.
- Ensure all insurancerelated duties are performed in compliance with legal statutory and professional standards regulations and obligations.
- Identify new insurable risks within the business and recommend strategies to manage these risks effectively.
- Investigate evaluate and settle claims promptly and fairly using both technical knowledge and strong interpersonal skills to reduce loss ratios.
- Investigate fraudulent and suspicious claims within approved limits providing technical input and reviewing claims reports.
- Identify potential hazards and lossproducing exposures during surveys and advise the organization and underwriters on recommended actions to minimize or eliminate risks.
- Assess the risk levels of insured properties including evaluating moral and physical hazards.
- Analyze the financial risk associated with insuring properties and determine the appropriate coverage.
- Provide detailed and timely survey reports to underwriters aiding informed decisionmaking.
- Conduct independent risk surveys and vehicle inspections in line with management standards.
- Coordinate departmental activities to achieve set goals and objectives.
Requirements
- A Master s or Bachelor s Degree in Risk Management & Insurance or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry or a related field.
- Proven ability to maintain accurate records and provide regular reports on insurance claims.
- Strong knowledge of various insurance plans including vehicle home and business insurance.
- Indepth understanding of insurance principles and processes.
- Experience in the private sector is an added advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated creativity and innovation in problemsolving.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software (Word Excel PowerPoint).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
