Engineer Production Support

NBC Universal is looking for a talented individual to become a Production Support Engineer in the Production Engineering group for NBCU Operations and Technology (O&T) based out of the Telemundo Center facility located in Miami FL. O&T supports Enterprise Technology Broadcast and Production systems across NBCU globally.

The Production Engineer is responsible for providing bestinclass live television production support for NBCU supporting live and scripted/unscripted productions.  This position will also support the projects team where and as required to implement changes enhancements and system upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and support maintenance of a broadcast production environment consisting of multiple studios and production control rooms.
• Resolve support requests monitor ticketing systems for new issues and assigned tasks and perform preventative maintenance as assigned.
• Collaborate with other members of the engineering and technical teams in executing projects including working with internal stakeholders to create and update configuration documentation technical SOPs training materials etc.
• Support virtualization and cloud initiatives continuing deployment of virtual production systems both onpremise and in the cloud.
• Maintain production systems by measuring and monitoring availability system health.

Qualifications :

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Systems Engineering Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering Information Technology Information Systems Broadcasting or related fields or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years recent experience supporting television production streaming or master control environments.
• Experience supporting and deploying equipment in a production environment including video router production switchers audio consoles graphics and video playback systems studio cameras video & streaming encoders and wireless audio systems.
• Strong customer service skills and professionalism.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be willing to work evenings overnights weekends holidays with little or/no notice depending on production schedules.

Desired Characteristics:

• Ability to provide clear decisive feedback while being prepared to pivot or change course when appropriate.
• Experience with programming in one of these languages a plus: Python Bash PowerShell etc.
• Experience with systems monitoring tools such as Datadog Op5 New Relic etc.
• Demonstrate a dedication to building and maintaining a stable highperformance technical environment.

Additional Requirements:

• Onsite: This position has been designated as onsite contributing from the office five days per week.
