We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as a Public Affairs Officer. As a vital member of our organization, you will play an integral role in shaping public perception and managing relationships with various stakeholders. Your exceptional communication skills, strategic mindset, and keen understanding of public affairs will be essential in advancing our mission and goals.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic communication plans to promote our organization's objectives and initiatives
Create engaging content for press releases, speeches, articles, and social media platforms
Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, influencers, and key stakeholders
Proactively monitor and analyze public opinion and media coverage to identify opportunities and challenges
Serve as a spokesperson for our organization, effectively conveying our key messages and responding to inquiries from the media and the public
Coordinate and execute outreach events, such as press conferences and community forums
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with organizational objectives
Public Relations and Media Relations:
Develop and implement public relations strategies to promote the organization's image, programs, and services.
Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, handling media inquiries, conducting interviews, and issuing press releases.
Build and maintain positive relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers to ensure the organization's message is accurately conveyed.
Monitor media coverage and public perception, responding to media inquiries or issues that may affect the organization’s reputation.
Prepare and distribute press materials, including press releases, media kits, and statements.
Internal Communications:
Develop and manage internal communication strategies to keep employees informed about organizational changes, updates, and initiatives.
Write and edit internal newsletters, bulletins, and announcements to keep staff engaged and informed.
Foster transparent communication between leadership and staff to ensure alignment on company goals and priorities.
Collaborate with human resources and leadership teams to ensure consistent messaging regarding organizational changes, policies, or events.
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
A minimum of 2 years of experience in public affairs or a similar role
Proven track record of successfully implementing strategic communication plans
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
Proficiency in social media platforms and digital communication tools
Familiarity with public relations practices and media relations
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and persuasive messages for different audiences.
Strong media relations skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets.
Proficient in using social media platforms, content management systems, and analytics tools.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to analyze and interpret public sentiment and media coverage to develop effective communication strategies.
Familiarity with crisis communication protocols and strategies.
Experience with event planning and coordination.
