Assist with Safety, health and environmental concerns on a small plant or platform or on any one shift. Ensure the safety, security and fi re protection resources of the plant or platform are functional at all times. Work within standard instruction and procedures.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Manage follow up on final site investigation reports, maintains the phrase library and MSDS.
Maintain simple HSE documentation; HSE procedures, manuals, guidance documents and records.
Assist in facilitating related training programs and conduct classroom lectures and testing for groups and individual.
Participate in risk assessments and job reviews to identify and prevent HSE hazards with supervision.
Generate reports, data, graphs and records as required using the computer system such as daily and monthly reports.
Assist in the coordination of HSE inspections and follows up with departments to ensure recommendations are implemented.
Ensure HSE equipment is inspected, maintained and calibrated according to manufacturer specifications.
Undertake compliance monitoring and measurements of key HSE parameters.
Develop and Implement Safety Policies
Create safety protocols: Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance: Ensure that workplace operations comply with occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Safety training: Design and deliver safety training programs for employees to educate them about safety procedures, emergency protocols, and best practices.
Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification
Conduct risk assessments: Regularly perform risk assessments to identify potential hazards and assess the severity of risks associated with workplace activities and environments.
Identify hazards: Identify and assess safety hazards in the workplace, such as dangerous machinery, chemicals, or unsafe work practices, and recommend corrective actions.
Implement safety measures: Recommend measures to eliminate or control identified risks, such as modifying work practices, introducing safety equipment, or improving ventilation systems.
Bachelor’s Degree sciences or engineering in safety and environment field.
•Minimum of 2 year experience in the same field.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
Analysis and Problem Solving.
Employee Health and Safety.
Operational Safety.
Emergency Response.
Fluency in English language with excellent communication (written & oral) skills.
Knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Safety Inspections and Audits
Inspect work environments: Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify safety issues, hazards, and non-compliance with safety standards.
Audit safety systems: Perform regular audits of safety protocols, equipment, and training programs to ensure they are functioning effectively.
Report findings: Document safety inspection results, report hazards, and recommend corrective actions to management.
Accident Investigation and Reporting
Investigate accidents: Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents to determine their causes and ensure they do not recur.
Prepare reports: Prepare detailed accident reports, including findings, root causes, and recommended corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
Coordinate with authorities: Work with local authorities, health and safety agencies, and other regulatory bodies to report workplace accidents and ensure legal compliance.
