As the Ideal Candidate youll:
Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where students feel valued and encouraged to engage in learning. Set clear behavioral expectations and consistently uphold guidelines to create a productive and respectful atmosphere. Collaborate with classroom teachers to embed English language support seamlessly across various subjects. Regularly evaluate student progress and refine instructional strategies to promote continuous language development. Develop and implement lessons that align with school and state standards targeting language acquisition goals for English Language Learner (ELL) students. Offer tailored instruction in both oneonone and small group formats to address the unique needs of each student.
Requirements
- Valid Illinois PEL with ESL endorsement.
- Experience as an ESL Teacher or in a related teaching role.
- Prior experience working with students from diverse language and cultural backgrounds.
- At least a bachelor s degree from an accredited institution is required. A Master s degree in TESOL or a related field is highly preferred.
