Job Description
Finance Controller
Location: Southwestern OH (between Cincinnati and Dayton)
Overview: We are a specialized recruitment firm retained to find a Finance Controller for a leading company in the metal packaging industry known for its excellent benefits and supportive work environment. Situated in the vibrant southwestern region of Ohio conveniently located between two Cincinnati and Dayton known for its suburban charm and excellent quality of life.
Position Summary: As the Financial Controller you will report to the CFO and oversee two direct reports. This role requires a strategic thinker with leadership skills to drive financial performance manage financial operations reduce inventory and improve inventory management. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cost accounting for manufacturing environments especially with longterm projects where customer funds are carried across fiscal years. This position offers significant growth and advancement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations including budgeting forecasting and financial reporting.
- Manage cost accounting processes for manufacturing ensuring accurate project cost tracking and reporting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support growth and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Prepare financial statements and reports.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance identifying areas for improvement.
- Implement costsaving initiatives.
- Provide financial insights and support decisionmaking processes.
- Supervise two direct reports and support sales and purchasing departments.
- Exposure to German accounting is a plus.
- Some auditing experience would be useful.
- Work on reducing inventory and managing working inventory.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; CPA or CMA is a plus
- 710 years of experience in a similar role preferably in manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles particularly in managing longterm manufacturing projects involving customer funds carried through fiscal years
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Experience with ERP systems
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- German language skills and auditing experience are a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in companies with $3M or greater in sales
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary of $80000 $120000 depending on experience with a topnotch benefits package including health insurance retirement plans and paid time off.
