Job Summary
The Press Operator working in conjunction with the Press Feeder assists in the production of high quality printing jobs to meet customer and company expectations in a costeffective manner while meeting strict deadlines on one of several large printing presses.
1st Shift typical hours 6:00 am 2:30 pm
Responsibilities
- Complete understanding of LAB values and image control via color scanning device
- Ability to achieve proper registration ink and water balance and maintain color balance throughout job
- Working knowledge of dot gain proper trap inks and coatings and how they work with a multitude of substrates
- An understanding of plate curves and how they affect the CT in tone mid tone and tone values
- Ability to retrieve JDF files and to preset the CPC 2000 and set up press the most efficient way
- Good eye for color and be able to match proofs
- Knowledge and ability to hang blankets and plates and to pack press properly
- Knowledge of the Alcolor Water System and Vario Roller Hickey Picking System
- Working knowledge of the Technotrans Cooling and Water System
- Be able to work at a high production rate in a fastpaced environment
- Ability to operate motorized pallet jack and/or forklift (certification may be required)
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience running a 6color press with aqueous coating (Heidelberg Press experience preferred).
- Litho Experience Preferred
- High school graduate/GED
- Any trade experience is a plus
