Job Description

Overview


The RNTX Administrative Director of Emergency Services plays a crucial role in overseeing the emergency services department of a healthcare organization.
This position encompasses strategic planning operational management and collaborative leadership to ensure highquality care is delivered to patients in critical conditions.

The Director will lead a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations managing budgetary constraints and implementing effective policies and procedures.

Their leadership is vital to fostering a culture of safety excellence and patientcentered care within the emergency services. The ideal candidate will not only have extensive clinical expertise in emergency services but also possess strong administrative and interpersonal skills needed to navigate the complexities of healthcare management.

Key Responsibilities


  • Oversee daily operations of emergency services departments.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for emergency services.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively.
  • Lead mentor and develop nursing and administrative staff.
  • Build collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Monitor quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols.
  • Analyze departmental data to drive performance improvements.
  • Manage patient care delivery within emergency services.
  • Coordinate disaster response and emergency preparedness plans.
  • Oversee staff scheduling and workload distribution.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and feedback sessions.
  • Participate in organizational strategic planning and goal setting.
  • Engage with community and stakeholders to promote emergency services.

Required Qualifications


  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years Recent acuter care Emergency Department Director experience.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) preferred
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency care protocols and practices.
  • Proficiency in healthcare management principles.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and derive actionable insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in budget preparation and financial management.
  • Familiarity with healthcare IT systems and electronic health records.
  • Certifications such as ACLS PALS or TNCC are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
