Overview
The RNFL Director of Surgical Services is a pivotal role within our healthcare organization overseeing the surgical departments operations and ensuring the delivery of highquality surgical care to patients.
This position is critical in maintaining optimal patient safety quality patient outcomes and compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
The Director leads a team of nursing staff and collaborates with surgeons anesthetists and administrative personnel to develop best practices improve efficiency and enhance patient experiences.
Additionally this role includes budgeting staffing personnel management and strategic planning making it foundational to the surgical services offered at our facility.
The Director will be responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and education ensuring the surgical department is wellequipped to handle diverse patient needs and adapt to evolving healthcare challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all surgical services operations and staff management.
- Implement and enforce policies for surgical safety and patient care.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to develop and maintain protocols.
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations.
- Monitor quality metrics and implement improvement initiatives.
- Manage budgeting and financial performance of the surgical department.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide staff development.
- Facilitate communication between surgical teams and administration.
- Lead training programs for surgical staff on best practices.
- Participate in strategic planning for surgical services.
- Maintain inventory and supply chain for surgical necessities.
- Address patient concerns and feedback regarding surgical experiences.
- Benchmark surgical services against industry standards and best practices.
- Prepare reports on surgical outcomes for senior management.
- Conduct regular audits of surgical procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Florida.
- Bachelors degree in Nursing; Masters degree preferred.
- 5 years of nursing experience in surgical services.
- 3 years in a leadership or managerial role in healthcare.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques.
- Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) preferred
- Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) preferred
